The strength of AIR doesn't just come from our technicians in the field, it comes from the strength of the engineering team that understands how to design and build the equipment we are servicing. We understand the importance of controlling corrosion in electrical rooms, and with our nationwide experience we have built our machines and service process to address these issues.

Proper brazing techniques, application of corrosion inhibitors, design of electrical enclosures, and precise selection of parts are some of the things we do differently to ensure our units last longer in harsh environments. As we repair units onsite, we use this knowledge to make other units last longer and increase reliability.


We currently have the maintenance contract at Five Paper Mills. At these locations we have been working to document and GPS tag all HVAC equipment throughout the mill. This allows us to have an accurate inventory of all equipment so we can better plan and have an inventory of spare parts.

We have been able to proactively locate manuals and electrical information for the equipment on-site that is most critical. With our software system we can quickly react to service calls, accurately locating and knowing exactly the type of equipment that needs service. We tailor our preventative maintenance program to each type of equipment as well as provide trending on problem units and areas. This allows us to increase our unit response and ultimately the up-time of many units through out the mills that we service.

When we first get a maintenance contract our first action is to get to know the site. This includes a full audit of the HVAC units onsite. Our technicians will spend time going around the site to each area and find all of the HVAC units. We then update a master list with the GPS coordinates, service that needs to be done, and details on the units. This information is then fed into our maintenance software platform. We spend the time to find the OEM manuals for the majority of critical units. If an issue is identified with the unit, service is scheduled to get the unit running properly.

This first few weeks of “pain” and effort is a very effective way to start the maintenance contract off on the right foot.
